I doubt anyone can prepare mine to my liking as well as I can, but going out is nice once in a while.
Either way steak is steak, and sometimes we get dressed up (my husband and I) for a romantic dinner at home. It's romantic, candle lit, intimate, and just the two of us enjoying wine, and a home cooked steak, baked potato, and desert. I think the thought being put into the meal, makes it taste that much better, anyone can go to a restaurant and order a steak.
As an amateur chef with a very discerning pallet, I prefer to cook it myself. This way I guarantee the freshness and can season it to my taste and cook it to my taste too.
I can not cook a very good steak my self and if not for my husbands love of steak I probably would not try to cook them at all!
I prefer going out not because I cannot make a good steak dinner but because it is an opportunity to get waited on and there is no clean up.
I love going out on occasion for a nice steak dinner, but am usually disappointed. No one makes a steak like the filet mignon my husband marinates and cooks outside on the grill!
I have been a professional butcher for over 20 years. I can't go into a restaurant with a clear conscience and pay $20.00 for a steak dinner that I know cost the eatery less than $3.00 to prepare.
Rather, I would choose and cut the meat myself and prepare it for my family and friends.
Yes it is true. The butcher's family always gets the best cuts of meat.
I prefer to have it perfectly prepared and served to me for 3 times the price. I think it tastes better when I'm dressed up, using a cloth napkin, and drinking wine I can't pronounce. I don't know what taste buds these things innervate, but I know it tastes better.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
