The reason that I think it is important is that the profile page is the place where many visitors stop by first to learn more about you. I stopped by at your profile page because you had asked another question on the site, and I was interested in learning more about you. I was very interested in reading about your background and thoughts, but that small error was a distraction.
The profile page is usually the single page that gets most views, far more than any hubs. Therefore, I think that proofreading it is a good idea. Some Hubbers will agree with me, others may not.
That is fine, everyone can decide for themselves what is most important and how much effort to put into the writing.
The same issue comes up with respect to hubs. I personally believe strongly in proofreading my hubs, and often go back several times to correct errors. Others have a different opinion, and that is their decision.
I will, however, not read Hubbers whose works have too many errors. Others may have a different standard, and I respect that as well.
I often proof anything I write. I try to keep my spelling and grammar free from any mistakes by reading the material over. If I'm not sure how something is spelled, I look it up.
Typos are inevitable. I try to proof everything in my Hub before pressing the "publish" button but once in a while, I'll go back later and notice a misspelled word or something "off" and I have to go back and fix it. We're only human...
Thanks for your time I just corrected this. I don’t consider my profile page that important as to review again and again or to proofread. Your point of view may be right but with due respect I don’t agree with it that the trivial grammatical or spelling mistakes affect the hubs or it doesn't make a Hubber look so good.
The profile page is only that important as to convey the basic information about the hubber, isn’t it?
Yes. I try to make sure everything is spelled correctly. If I've missed something......I'm sorry, I didn't leave it that way on purpose!
I notice typos and grammer errors all the time but I assume by reading some of the Hubs and comments that English is often times not their first language.
Yes I do, in fact I proofread everything that I write. I also write in Word first before I copy and paste it in. That way there should be no errors at all.
I don't mind taking the time because I don't like coming across poor spelling or grammar and I doubt if people reading my stuff would like it either.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
