I'm pro life, and get what you're saying... I just wanted to mention, theres a small time play based on that concept. I'm sorry, but I forgot the name of it. I took a theatre tech and design class in my freshman year of highschool.
We would build the sets in a black room (black box I think we called it) and the plays would be preformed there... my school was very liberal, and the class had in fact two plays revolving around homosexuality. The first play was about a family getting together; two parents, with their two adult children; a son, and a daughter with her new husband. The son is openly gay, and through a conversation , the audiance finds out his sister's husband is a scientist of some sort (i think).
He tells them of a new advancement where they can now tell if a baby/fetus is gay. He says its a good thing, because then it allows the parents to know ahead of time.. An argument starts, when the brother questions their parents if they would have aborted him. The sister is distraught during the whole two conversations; as she can't imagine life without her dear brother , and she later reveals to the family she is expecting.
Upon hearing the news, her husband suggests they make an appointment. Her brother is angered , and from what I can remember, I think he leaves and refuses to contact his family again, to such an extent that he has his boyfriend drop something off to his mother for him at the end. This was about 4-5 years ago, so I can't remember if that was everything , but its a great play.
The name included the word " golden" I think. Another great play about homosexuality is Stop Kiss. Its about two female friends that are roommates.. things happen, and they realize they are becoming attracted to one another.
They thought they were straight , but later refer to themselves as lesbians. The play starts from the ending, when they're found beaten by a man after having their first kiss . To the person who said sex selective abortions are only in China and India.. not true.
It happens here in the USA too. For similar reasons , and also for reasons of convenience, like a woman pregnant with twins but only wanting one.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
