Ignoring all bias, here are the current possibilities as we stand today (read all before opinion-based rating ensues) Option 1: As far as overturn, there are currently 38 states with pending/passed legistlation defying the bill, and guaranteeing freedom of health care choices for both consumers and practitioners. This is supported by the 10th Amendment, which clearly states that ALL RIGHTS belong to states, unless otherwise specified in the constitution. HOWEVER, according to the Supremacy Clause (Article VI clause 2) the federal law shall be the law of the land.
Meaning federal law supercedes state. These two laws contradict one another, and it will be up to the Supreme Court to decide untimately which stands in regards to health care. Option 2: Even if the Supreme Court decides in favor of the federal government, 38 States is a Constitutional Majority, which is enough to allow ratification of the constitution.
To add an Amendment (such as freedom of consumer/practitioner choice,) you need 3/4 majority to back it. So out of 50 states, 38 is and will be enough should they choose to stick together, though that is a tall order, as opinions are so scattered across the nation. Option 3: As Mitt Romney and other Republican leaders have proposed, the legislation will be overturned if necessary funding to implement it is cut.
This will happen in the event that Republicans take over both House and Senate in the Novermber Elections. They will have to write and pass a bill that nullifies this bill. In addition, they must have the 2/3 majority vote necessary to override Obama's veto.
Republicans will be running on the platform of repealing the bill. Win or lose, the will of the people will become evident in November. The results will play a strong role the fate of this legislation.
Obamacare passed.........and the bankruptcy of this nation is on the horizon.........Any time a government tries to give you a service or something of substance, they have to steal it from somebody else, so the whole process is immoral because it’s based on government theft, that’s why they’re hiring 16,000 more new IRS agents, because they have to steal more money. You cannot spend this kind of money, borrow this money and create new credit to finance this debt…. Medical care will get worse and this country will go into bankruptcy.
Title says it all. And it doesn’t stop with Obamacare. We need to use the states to take back state sovereignty overall.
We need to revive how our nation was shortly after the first revolution – a strong union of thirteen separate and individual states. Our states will indeed sue the federal government for the gross recklessness with the Obamacare legislation. Then pass legislation at the state level asserting our rights altogether as states.
We will attempt to assert our sovereignty through the courts and through legislation. If that fails, then God help us. But our states must remain sovereign at all costs.
We must restore the Republic. Florida’s attorney general will file a lawsuit with nine other state attorneys general opposing the healthcare legislation passed by Congress. Here is what Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, a Republican, said in a prepared statement announcing a news conference..... ...........“The health care reform legislation passed by the U.S. House of Representatives last night clearly violates the U.S. Constitution and infringes on each state’s sovereignty.
On behalf of the State of Florida and of the Attorneys General from South Carolina, Nebraska, Texas, Utah, Pennsylvania, Washington, North Dakota, South Dakota and Alabama if the President signs this bill into law, we will file a lawsuit to protect the rights and the interests of American citizens.
No I do not ,i would like it repeated I am a senior and its aready costing me money my co-pays have gone way up for doc and drugs . Its going to cost me about 120.00 a month more I am on fixed income everything keeps going up and we did not get any cola money for two years ,,i would like to throw all of congress out and get all new people there these been there far too long and don't help us the people.
Indeed I do for a myriad of reasons. There is hidden in this bill things deplorable and horrible and with each passing day this devil in the WH Obat continues to add but then realizes it is not acceptable so he retracts.
Yes there are many changes that should be made to Health Care In America but let me tell you guys from 30 yrs in the profession that this is hoooooooie. Nobody in this country is refused care. Not one person.
For cryin out loud look in your phone book and see what is offered by the States and what is available to everyone.
Now let me make this perfectly clear your illegal aliens are costing this country billions of dollars. To be exact 4.3 billion a year in ER visits etc etc etc and they will cost you 30 billion if Obatcare goes into effect.
Better wake-up and smell the Ilegal Immigrant dung.
Plus let me tell you just because you drop a child onto our shores according to the law they are not citizens of the U.S. If I drop a child on French or whatever soil they are not citizens with all privalages they are what their parents are. So Mexicans or Muslims or whatever who come here and drop a child the child is the citizen of the country of its' parents.
Get it right, read the Consitution and stop the BS.

Not in its current form. There needs to be serious tort reform, and the ability to purchase coverage across state lines. These are the areas which will make health care affordable, and accessible ,while retaining personal choice.
These two changes can make that happen while maintaining jobs in the private sector.
Poll: Two-Thirds of U.S. Doctors Expect ObamaCare to Worsen Care Patients Receive… That’s crazy-talk, Comrade Nancy told us how much we’re going to love it.
Another waste that will be thrown to garbage.
No! I do not support any kind of government run health care program. Besides, this piece of legislation was not even wrote up by anyone in govrenment. It was wrote up by an outside activist radical group.
I do believe that group was called the tides foundation; yep they wrote all 2300 pages of garbage.
Go back in history. They started the income tax: because the federal government was in need of more money to spend and that didn't last long until the federal government was in need of more money so fdr dicided to tell the american people they were to stupid to save for their retirement and the government could do better; will you see how great that worked out didn't ya. They actually were counting on no one ever recieving social security and they would have their own little slush fund and yes they have and they do use ss money for projects both foreign and domestic.Ss use to be where they could get all their spending money.
The house will pass the repeal of it, but people need to start calling senators and e-mail them and demand that they repeal all of obamacare and if they refuse then take names and in 2012 get them out of office. I don't care who the senator is.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
