Do you think it's OK to post question anonymously? I find a lot of spam because of that?

I feel that anonymous questions do not any longer serve a purpose beneficial to the Mahalo users. There is the occasional "delicate topic" question but 99.99786% of the anonymous questions are not of this genre. I am one of the Mahalo users who has the ability to vanish spam questions and this weekend I spent more of my time on Mahalo Answers vanishing spam than answering questions. It was very frustrating.

At one time when we managed pages we could ask and answer anonymous questions in relation to the pages we managed to insure great answers to great questions pertaining to our pages and we could insure these great questions and great answers made it to our managed pages. Now with no pages to manage I can see zero uses for the anonymous question. The Mahalo TOS has even been changed to reflect a changed attitude with regard to asking anonymous questions then answering those anonymous questions, doing so is now considered "gaming" and grounds for termination of our Mahalo dollars and Mahalo accounts.

Very sad that the one good use for anonymous questions is now illegal. I myself would never ask a "delicate topic" anonymous question because if I had that type of question to ask... anyone could safely bet I would not seek the counsel of Mahalo Answers but instead bring the question to a qualified professional. From the viewpoint of Mahalo anonymous questions bring in huge traffic so I am afraid we are stuck with them but at least they are not usually on the front page.

This weekend has been an exception as MA has been incredibly slow so the anons get some FP hang time... please get out and vote actual Mahalo user questions up so we can get that anonymous trash off of the front page. When anyone sees something in the anonymous questions section or on spy view that is out of line (abusive, misspelled, bad grammar, not a question, spam etc etc.. anything "just not right") please use the report button or send me via direct question the links to these questions and I will vanish them.

I guess it depends on your definition of spam, some people might find the most remedial and stupid questions helpful. I think it is a good idea to have the anonymous feature it questions, a lot of times people assume you are asking about a problem because you suffer from it (STD's, domestic abuse, sexual problems, ETC) and not because you are just generally interested in it. I have noticed a few questions where people even noted in the question that it was not a personal problem, still people assume it is.

Omnicron asked a question about female sexual dysfunction and a couple people assumed it was a problem in his sex life, even though he clearly noted it was just something he found interesting. If your asking a personal question about something that you might not want everyone to assume you suffer from, the little mask mahalo man can help. No canned meat there!

Some people are asking questions so delicate they would not ask them if they had to show an avatar. The spam is insidious.

To be honest, I'm also getting a little sick of some of the anonymous question, if you can even call them questions at all. At first, I thought it was a great idea to bring them to Mahalo, but the qualitty of them is kinda lacking. I do end up answering them because they are usually really easy to answer.

I would think that people who use mahalo would be smart enough to only ask good questions, but I'm finding some of the anonymous question to be avertisement. I don't think the feature is nessecary because online, no one knows who we really are. Also, the questions can't be answered anonymously, and no one is ever ashamed of their answer.

I wouldn't mind if they discountinued the anonymous feature.

They still don't see you. Vote them down, don't reply, leave it anonymous. If they're real a**holes, maybe they can guess it's you, based on your writing style.

If they're that big a troll, though, they are already irrelevant. Let them leave their replies, and give them a stony silence in return. It's really the only way to deal with most Internet trolls, and even the way to deal with real life narcissists and/or sociopaths.

Worst case scenario, take a month or so off. They will find another victim. I don't always follow my own advice on this one, though.

I grew up a scrapper. Never lost a sober fight, especially with a single, unarmed combatant. If you word a question the right way, you'll get every d*** (or bitch) on here to slam you.

It's a redundant, anticlimactic lesson involving the validation of your common sense expectations of douche baggery, for when you're bored. No, I'm not making that more readable. Don't flame me.

I understand you might get upset with their replies, but don't take them seriously. If they're giving such annoying answers to anonymous questions, f*** them. It certainly doesn't matter if it's you or not.

They're off barking at fire hydrants and humping cats when they're not on here. Probably even Tea Baggers, waiting to misspell some bullsh*t and carry it around on a .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
