First off, it is extremely funny that you ask this question anonymously... That aside, yes, there is no need to keep repeating the same question over and over again, but it's quite understandable. Mahalo users are very involved with the site, and have enjoyed it tremendously over the last year. The users have become a sort of 'family', loving the way Mahalo works.
The introduction of 3.0 and anonymous questions have both improved that experience, AND disturbed the relative 'peace'. The anonymous questions are still a bit crude, and clumsy, clearly from unexperienced users. Many regulars feel a bit those many rough questions a disturbance of the peace, and wonder whether they are positive for the site.
I can't blame them, as far as I am concerned, the 'anonymous flood' will go down in Mahalo history as the follow-up of the 'Plumber debacle' and the 'twitter Import overload'. I can understand why Mahalo wants to attract more users, but I wonder if the 'quantity over quality' paradigm will be positive or negative in the end.
Although I understand the frustration of seeing the same question for the umpteenth time, truly, for questions about anon questions being spam to become spam in and of themselves, the quantity would need to be such that you continuously see them on every page of questions, multiple times. It is true that repeating the same question does not add a new question, but it does add information about how widespread disaffection is with the flood of semi-coherent anon questions on Mahalo recently. A possible solution for Mahalo to consider is to fund anonymous questions at M$0.20 instead of M$0.25.
That would still bring in the same flood of questions, but would put questions people actually put their name to ahead in the queue. If there are few questions from a named member, the anon ones will still be there to be answered. However, the anon questions would not "push down" the others to the 4th or 5th page of questions within an hour or two.
If someone wants to ask a question anonymously but have it receive a higher priority, s/he can still put a tip on it to keep it high on the list.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
