No. There's just too much involved in being skilled in either that trying to do both is spreading yourself so thin you can't be great at both at the same time. Just take a look at Pete Rose and when he tried to be a player manager.
His skills were already in decline as a player, but they sunk to new lows when he tried to do both. The Reds could have played a minor leaguer and done better, Meantime, he never did develop managerial ability. Even had he not been caught gambling, he probably would have been fired at the end of the 1989 season.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
