I think Sarah Palin loves Alaska, and I think she love the USA, but God help us if that ever becomes mutually exclusive to having political aspirations. I think she also loves her family and what better way to respond to her increasingly negative and demonizing opposition than to showcase the real thing in a totally positive counterpoint. On the one hand we have the nasty hatefulness spewing accusations from voices and faces twisted with hatred and emanating from traditionally formatted media studios, web sites and political ads, and her response?"Why don't y'all come watch our show"?

Sort of like inviting the whole country to a barbque. How can you not like that show? My father read Jack London's "Call of the Wild" as a young boy and longed to visit Alaska all of his life.

One of the last things he did as an old man, before his health got too bad was a mini van pilgrimage to Alaska with my Mom, his wife of 50 years. If it's politics, it's the kind of politics I wish we had more of. You can keep your hateful twisted up faces and voices that spew nastiness as if it were some sort of virtue.

I'll take the tour of Alaska with good down home folks, thanks. I may not vote for Sarah Palin. I can think of several stronger candidates.

But God bless her little pea picken heart, I sure can't find it in me to hate that gal. And THAT, my friends, is both good TV and good politics.

Personally I think it's a little bit of both. She says in the ad for the show that she'd rather be outdoors than behind a desk pushing a pencil, but I don't believe she's going to give up politics. Somehow I also think she's trying to showcase her family appeal, too.

If she's going to go back into politics, this would be the name of the game to ensure voters see how caring, loving, and wonderful she is *wretches* I haven't watched the show yet. I might watch one episode just out of curiosity. The real reason I'd tune in is because I've never been to Alaska and it's a beautiful state.

Excellent question, too!

Yes! It's giving her the "name brand recognition" which is important in politics, plus establishes her as a "sweet heart" and a regular joe, i.e. One of "us" which is popular with the voters.

I don't particularly care for her political views, but I must stand back with admiration on her marketing skills.

Yes and No ....... I think she did it so her face is always on so if she runs again people will definately know and remember her. Remember any publicity is good publicity. I also think when she went in front of the spotlight she didn't want to let it go.

I am a former political consultant, and can tell you honestly and professionally - everything that Sarah Palin does is for political reasons. It does not matter if it is her show, her daughter on Dancing with the Star, or going out to dinner - it is all political. You see, it does not ultimately matter if Sarah Palin runs herself.

Her celebrity is so huge now that just her name being added as a supporter will garner attention. Any candidate, group, or cause that she backs skyrockets (at least in the short term) up the Google and Yahoo search query rankings. The Republicans, and high-ranking members of the Tea Party know that the more that they get Sarah Palin out there, the more celebrity she becomes.

The higher a person's celebrity status, the more benefit it has to either of the parties involved. Usually, the political parties look for celebrities that add some kind of stature to a campaighn. John Kerry reached out to Jon Bon Jovi.

George HW Bush reached out to Arnold. Obama reached out to Oprah. In Sarah Palin, though, she is a celebrity with a political background. It gives her a higher level of credence.

This gives her more of a balance that few otehr celebrities have. Top that off with the chram that she can exude from time to time, and you really have a winner. When she had the VP nod for the 2008 Election, she was mostly seen through political eyes.

People wanted to know her stances, and her voting backgound. Now that the election is behind us, people have the opportunity to learn more about her. The have the opportunity to learn about the person behind the politician.

You will note that now that the election is over, she will be talking less about politics, and more about herself and her family. This is goaled to make her as human, and down to earth as possible. Even if she does not run for any office herself in 2012, she will have the down home strength to back anyone and help them become successful.

In the history of US politics, no party has had a stranger, "Sleeper Cell," politician than Sarah Palin. Her show, and everything that goes along with it are simple there to make her a more useful tool for the party down the road.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
