Because they are delusional çunts like J M.
The same reason people think capitalism works. There was this notion for a time in the 90's that history had been won. Capitalism had conquered and was the true revolutionary force of the 20th century.
But what has come to light in the years since is that we can no longer ignore the inherent issues with the global capitalist market. Things like the materials made to make your phone are purchased from African warlords, making both you and the people that make your phone complicit in things like ethnic genocide, child soldiers, child rape and murder, committed by African warlords fueled by western capitalist interests. Not to mention the labor used to assemble the phone is slave labor.
And this doesn't even begin to take into account the enormous waste of a capitalist economy, the ocean (and soon the atmosphere) is awash (excuse the pun) will masses of floating waste, waste that will never decompose. Rainforests being decimated, whole ecosystems destroyed, nuclear disasters and oil leaks, carbon dioxide billowing into the atmosphere literally altering the planet's climate. And this, all of this, doesn't even begin to describe the massive, unimaginable wealth disparity capitalism creates, or the social ills it breeds as its constant.
You can no longer look at the world with any sort of knowledge, experience, intelligence and objectivity and not find that this system we've created is broken and will not stand as is into the future. Capitalism revolutionized the 20th century and it has nearly killed us all. History is not won, it is not on our side.
The revolution is not over. Great democracies throughout history eventually turn into empires and then dictatorships. We have not figured it out, it is much more likely the previous 500 or so years of freedom and enlightened thought have been an anomaly that is currently being fixed by those with real power.
Socialism is not dead. Communism is not dead. Communism will win.
To fight history, it must revolutionize the 21st century.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
