Capitalism may have a few rough edges that need to be smooth over I'll admit. But comparing socialism/communism to capitalism is a joke. Why don't you name all of the leaders of socialism/communism that lived like the rest of their countrymen and not above them?
Socialism/Communism is an idealist's view.... Capitalism is a realist's view. Socialism/Communism fails to take into account human nature. The nature in which we are competitive and will seek to improve our current status by all means necessary (some of us anyway).
Capitalism, while not perfect, takes human nature into account in which all forms of technology and processes improve to increase use of resources and allocation through incentives. While socialism and communism sound great on the outside it has been proven time and time again to fail. You will always have ppl that want to earn what they deserve and ppl that want to earn more than what they deserve.
Since socialism and communism destroy any incentive to achieve, more ppl will only do what is necessary and nothing more. There will be no Michael Jordans, or Tiger Woods, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, or Babe Ruths because there is no reward for doing more than what is expected of you and push the boundaries of innovation. Socialism and Communism will outstrip the resources faster and less efficient than Capitalism will because of the profit angle.
Capitalism creates innovation to better use resources and logistics to increase profits. Profits are channeled back into the economy in the form of new technology advancements and jobs. Capitalism also rewards ppl for doing more than what is expected of them and especially if they can prove they can perform that task.
This isn't repression of the working class. Some people will excel naturally and others will not. Basically, to use a cliche, life is not fair and it never will be.
No one likes this view but sadly its the truth. You can never make it fair as socialism and communism attempt to do. In perfect forms... socialism and communism will basically provide you with what is needed.
So that means if I am single and work 8 hours doing my duties I will receive a small house with a single car and enough food. Where is if I was a husband with a family of 8 I would get a big house, more than one car, and more food....... all for working the exact same job and hours as the single guy. BUT I get more!
How is that fair? Socialism and Communism is a failed attempt. It seems perfect until you add the human element.
Once that is added, in all of our faults (greed, sloth, vanity, ect) that system collapses.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
