Do you think some things are destined to happen?

Some things are predestined, some are not. So many millions of things are happening every minute, hour of every day that is beyond the control of human being. Certain things (life, death, marriage, wealth, health, etc but not all) were predestined by God from the beginning of time and throughout history to take place to bring about man's salvation.

Generally, all things are not predestined. One of the predestinated things is marriage. Someone may say that marriage is made in heaven before his or her birth.

God has selected people and caused events to effect of God has also asked us not to think much about predestinated things or matter but to do at-least one good work in each day and work for the well-being of humanity and the world. -quote- We pre-destin most things with what is now well known as, ‘the law of attraction’. Yes. It is called fate. "what is lotted can not be blotted" - that is, we can not alter the writing of fate / fortune.

Better compromising with the fate / lot is a good policy. "So I remember my mother and I talking about what would have happened if she hadn't married my father. " - pl do not think in that way, rather make a policy with your mother how you live well with the father.

Your next question seems very hard to me. This is a very complicated religious think. Only the pious hermit has the correct reply.As a general public I would like to say that do not think so much, accept the reality and be more practical and rational.

I think significant portions of our results are destined to happen because of our habits that create repeating patterns of actions.

Yes some things are destined to happen like interbreeding, and the economic shift to higher populated countries.

I think some things are destine to happen (your title question), but I have to disagree with your mom. For my definition of soul I'd like to go with "5 a : the moral and emotional nature of human beings" from the Merriam-Webster online dictionary. Would you have the same soul if your dad was a baptist preacher?

Or a junkie? A Lawyer who trained you to look for loop-holes? A Mechanical Engineer who taught you to always consider "worst-case scenarios"?

What if your father was far more loving towards you as a child... Or far less? Your DNA is half dad's... With a different father you would have different inherent abilities. I find it hard to believe that you are "destine to be the same" no matter who she choose.

Most every other choice in life has specific consequences. Seems odd to think we could just marry anyone and we'd have the same kids no matter what. (just my opinion).

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
