It's unconstitutional to refuse on grounds that the community center contains a mosque. Though I'm sure Bloomberg is looking for a way he can kill the project without angering the peaceful Muslim community in New York who would be served by the community center in the area or driving them toward the any of the fringe groups, some of whom are also located in New York. I don't think that's possible though and the Mosque will probably be built.
The intent of putting a Mosque there is similar to the intent of having minions that meet around various locations in New York, including several that meet in the Wall Street area. New York is a very big place with lots of religious Jews and Muslims who are required by their religious commitments to pray a certain number of times per day. They generally go about it quietly and I have no problem with that.
There is only 1 big prominent Mosque in New York (it's in my old neighborhood and has a news ticker on the outside, which I always thought was a bit incongruous), this one would be a small Mosque inside a community center. But the bottom line is that New Yorkers are generally not that bothered by it and it's not the business of outsiders to tell us what should and should not bother us. You can have your opinions on what's right and wrong, but if your opinion is that putting a Mosque there would offend the locals, then you're wrong, only a small portion are bothered and most of them are not bothered that much.
We're a pretty hearty people here in my home town, not easily phased and generally pretty tolerant of different ways of life. I recently saw a guy jogging through Times Square with a mohawk wearing nothing but shorts and moon shoes. That barely even turned heads.
It's a complex with a mosque in it. The facts just make Retardlicans look like haters, as usual. It's not actually siting on the WTC site it's near it.
If we keep showing our intolerance to muslims, how are they supposed to return the favor.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
