I agree with you greatly. I am very opposed to the mosque being built. But I don't live in NY city.
So I have no voice or should I have any voice on what is built in New York. Or should anyone outside of NY city. Only those residents of NY city and the 911 survivors and relatives of the victims should have any say.
Everybody else should back off and let them handle it. Even you Mr. President. In my research to find a way to prevent this.
I have not found very positive results. According to the Religious Land Use Act and Institutionalized Persons Act they can. This act allows any church or religious institute to by-pass any zoning laws that would prevent most other buildings from being.
I did find out that there could be a possibility that the city could cite eminent domain under the Takings Clause of the 5th Amendment. But with the little Napoleon mayor of New York city and the president backing the building of the mosque. I don't see that happening.
Unless the people speak up and work something out. Again I hope they can reach an arrangement like the Governor offered to the Mosque's people.
Look, you are not conducting a decent argument here. Your point has nothing to do with any facts. The truth is the Muslims wishing to build this Mosque were not linked to 911.
So, how does this compare to any of your nonsense written above. You can't compare a racist hate group (as you mention above) to Muslims because it is not the same type of group. You are forgetting that some Muslims were even affected by the incident on 911.
You forget that many Muslims were born and raised in the USA and even many have had their family members blood shed in battles for this country. You need to wake up and smell the coffee!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
