I do not personally know any people in Pennsylvania that match what you've said, but I suppose they could be bitter, or they could get over it and get on with their lives, because moping won't accomplish anything. A mature, rational person will suck it up and get a job, any job, to make ends meet and support themselves and their families, rather than whining about their lives, drinking beer and doing nothing but feel bitter. Get a job, even if it's pumping gas, cleaning toilets, flipping burgers or bussing tables to tide you over until you can get something better and get back on their feet.

Gee, I would think so. Never ending platitudes from business and government leaders about how the economy will readjust and everyone will be better off? Meanwhile the rich get richer and the poor stay poor, except now they have to compete with a whole bunch more joining them from the middle class.
This is what happens when you export jobs. Your former customers stop buying because they are out of work. So it forces more jobs off-shore.
It’s a vicious cycle. I sure would be bitter. And this administration has done nothing for those at the bottom of the economic spectrum, except mouth comforting words about trickle-down economics and give tax breaks to the wealthy.
Well guess what, trickle-down has slowed to a trickle.
I'm sure there are SOME people who are bitter... but that's pretty meaningless. Some people would be resentful and bitter if they had to wait too long in a checkout line. That's more a personality trait; I believe Obama (who this quote is from) said that people who had lost their jobs 25 YEARS ago were the ones who were bitter.
If you lost your job 25 YEARS ago, you'd probably be a lot more than bitter - like maybe dead! Who would sit on their butt for 25 YEARS and not get another job? I think Obama was guilty of hyperbole and stereotyping.
I don't know that the "bitter" people exist in any appreciable number except in his head and the noggins of some leftwingers. That's clear if you read the rest of his quote: the same "bitter" people dive into religion and display antipathy towards illegal aliens! It's just a conglomeration of cliches, albeit ones dearly held by many leftwingers against what they think are the morons in flyover country.
If Obama keeps this up, I have a feeling he's the one who'll be bitter on election day! .
They're screwed! There was a time when Pennsylvania was the industrial capital of the world..Since the late 70's, all that industrial might was transported overseas, stranding many within the state.. NOTE: (PA. Joke) "What is the most common high school graduation gift, parents give their children in Pennsylvania?
----LUGGAGE"! HIGHER EDUCATION is popular in PA.. Parents struggle to send their kids to school, so they can be highly educated and unemployed.. If you tour the state, it is not uncommon to see neighborhoods in old steel/coal/railroad towns that are filled with boarded up Victorian mansions.. By the architecture, one can surmise there USED to be money there.. NOW, unless you're a Teacher, Cop, or work for the state, you're UNEMPLOYED or MARGIONALLY EMPLOYED.. UNLESS something amazing happens, demographic predictions assert that by 2050, there will be virtually NOBODY there.. (they say New York State too! )..As it stands now, much of PA.
(with a few bright spots)looks like the THIRD WORLD..(one can almost hear "Dueling Banjos", playing in the distance..) Sources: I know the area..
" "Was 115million enough to train foreign workers to steal our jobs here in the U.S.A.?" "Comment on this proposed plan to crack down on illegal workers that could cost 2% of legal American workers their jobs. " "Any men out there who have lost their jobs.....how does it effect your dating?
Why is it that some of the most important jobs in this county (politics) do not even have the qualifications it would.
Comment on this proposed plan to crack down on illegal workers that could cost 2% of legal American workers their jobs.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
