I own and drive a mini John Cooper Works. My buddy got hit by an 18 wheeler going about 35mph in the rear while driving his Mini Coops S. Totaled the car but he walked away from that.
I cannot speak for the smart fortwo, but the mini is unbelievably strong. I don't think the real question is whether they're safe in principal, but whether they are safe around SUV's and drivers who might not see them. I've had a few scary moments with distracted SUV drivers changing lanes.
I think they're safe.
They are as safe as a motorcycle in all honesty. As long as people drive SUV's, dump trucks and semis on the same road as mini's and smart cars, there is a large danger. Part is just simply people don't pay attention to other vehicles.
Another reason is even full sized vehicles can be lost in a semi's blindspot.
Safe .. to say that anybody could smash over them like fodder at a monster truck show.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
