Do you think there could really be a paradigm shift in alternative health?

I honestly don't believe this will happen and I only see one scenario in which it could Western medicine is advancing very rapidly. Up until now it has remained fairly primitive really. Doctors have been prescribing medications and treatment without really understanding how they work.

This is quickly changing. Our understanding of the human body is growing to the point where I sincerely believe that we will be able to cure all disease within a few decades. If this pans out, then alternative medicine will become completely obsolete.

I suppose that in itself would be a paradigm shift, but not in the way I believe your question was leading. The only way I can see alternative method gaining sufficient ground in comparison to Western medicine is if the scenario I describe above captivates the public's imagination but fails to deliver on its promise. Or alternatively, we discover that we can't know everything about the human body and we can't treat everything due to some quantum function which limits the predictability of certain treatments. In such an instance, I can see a huge movement embracing alternative medicine.

But I expect science will actually be putting alternative medicine out of business in our lifetimes. Sources: My Opinion .

Definitely! Such a shift would probably occur along the lines of people getting serious and leaving alternative health behind. Most likely the practitioners would get a real education and then maybe a real set of personal ethics and leave this "profession" in the wastebasket.
