I believe it's insulting to the poor when they are told that nothing is expected of them. There's a whole broo haha going on right now in the state of Michigan because the governor wants to put a four year cap on welfare benefits. I think by telling folks they have a deadline, they will have four years to complete their education (GED, trade school, community college...there are grants and tuition assistance for the poor you know), they can try to find work, even part-time work, and build up a resume.
My point? They will have the dignity of lifting themselves up while knowing there's a safety net to help them on their way up. It seems that the liberals are the only ones who expect nothing of the poor and even predict crime sprees as a result of their being forced to take care of themselves.
What a dismal and depressing view of people. I believe it gets down to the root of liberalism and how flawed it really is. Liberalism subsidizes failure.
Counting on a group of people to not be able to take care of themselves then rewarding them when they fail. Almost all liberal policies are counterproductive, don'tcha think?
They don't. I fail to see how treating same-sex couples the same as opposite-sex couples makes anyone dependent on the state. I also fail to see how having less laws that restrict freedom make anyone dependent on anything.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
