Do you think you're smarter than animals?

I think the more we study animals the more intelligent we will find animals to be. They are remarkable creatures. There is a alot of fascinating information out there about work being done with these amazing creatures.

There are a couple of respects in which I think my dog is smarter than I am. For example, there is his patience, his love, his amazing ability to endure pain, the ability to see and hear things I can't, and his basic happy outlook on life, and his innocence. It is only dumb people who perceive animals as dumb.

Other creatures' cognitive abilities are very different from our own and from other species. Dogs and cats think a lot more alike than different, yet think differently enough that most people prefer either a dog or a cat, claiming to not understand the other. As similar as humans and dogs think -- us both being hunter/scavengers and having similar bonding instincts (dogs may even be afraid of 'ghostly' phenomenon) -- it is doubtful they think about anything other than the here and now.

The future, other places, etc. mean very little to them. Symbolic concepts like money mean nothing to animals -- and numbers beyond four or five dissolve into quantity rather than specific numbers. Their brains focus on different abilities and concepts -- some of which might be incomprehensible or vistigeal to humans -- e.g. some chemicals may smell like messages or tempraments.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
