I would have *loved* to have been in New Orleans for Mardi Gras! It's really the only location that I know of that really goes all out with all of the wonderful and colorful celebration. I've always wanted to visit New Orleans, anytime of year, but most especially for such a famously fabulous celebration!
After the sad and devastating Hurricane Katrina, I think a lot of others feel as I do that they want to visit even more, just to help support the tourist industry in New Orleans, pay respects in some way for all the sadness that occurred there not so long ago and also see it now because it suddenly seems a little more fragile in light of the tragedy. All that said, I also think it would be the biggest and best party of my life if I went! I don't usually love too many crowds, but if any celebration would be worth it, this would be the one.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
