Microwaving a whole potato is faster than baking one in the oven but the end results are different (IMOP). Microwave: First wash/scrub the potato with a brush and water to get off all the dirt. Use a fork or knife to poke holes/slits in the potato.
This will prevent it from exploding in the microwave. Place it on a microwave safe plate (I also put some water on the plate, this helps the potato from drying out). Cook on high for 4 min then check it.
Cook it again for 4 more min and check again. When it's done it should be soft. Oven: This is my preferred method.
Start the same way (wash/scrub the potato with a brush and water to get off all the dirt). No need to poke holes in it this time. Tear off a piece of aluminum foil big enough to wrap the potato.
Place the potato in the center of the foil. I add about a 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil and a couple pinches of salt. Rub that all around the potato.
What this does is make the skin a little bit crispy and salty and mmm mmm good. Wrap up the potato and place on a cooking sheet at 350 for about an hour (depending on the size of the potato and how many your cooking). You'll find baking it in the oven concentrates the flavors and give it a more roasted taste as compared to the microwave potato.
You can also make some extras in the oven and later heat them up in the microwave :) Good luck!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
