The Amazon kindle is the best e-book reader on the market. With 8 weeks battery life, connection to Amazon Prime, and a capacity to hold over 100,000 books, you will be excited. Get it now!
I have the original Kindle, and just downloaded the iPod Touch Kindle App. Some advantages, just off the top of my head: -Battery life on the Kindle is much better, since the battery drains when pages are turned. Keeping a page on the screen draws no power at all.
- Bigger screen. Can display more text at once than on the iPod Touch/iPhone screen. - Keyword search.
I don't think you can search on the Kindle App. - Physical Keyboard, though your opinion may vary depending on how you like the iPhone software keyboard. - 3G cellular connection, though may be less relevant if you have an iPhone and not an iPod Touch.
Some downsides: - Lower contrast screen. You're seeing black text on grey background. - Slow page turning, with the flashes.
- No apps vs. the iPhone. Hope that helps.
I have the original Kindle and just received my Kindle 2 this week. I downloaded the iPhone Kindle app last night. The iPhone app is a nice addition in my opinion, but does not replace the Kindle.
Top advantages of a Kindle over Kindle iPhone App: 1. Larger screen - the iPhone is still pretty small for reading a whole book. The Kindle screens are about the size of a small paperback book page.2.
Electronic Ink - the Kindle uses e-ink technology and there is no backlighting (you actually need a light to read in the dark). Reading a Kindle is a lot easier on the eyes, especially if you look at a computer screen a lot already.3. On the Kindle, you can search, highlight and annotate your books.
Your annotations can be backed up on Amazon too. These features don't seem to be available with the iPhone app. 4.
On the Kindle, you can shop for books and other content in the Kindle Store directly from the Kindle device. If you have a Kindle, you can download your current books from Amazon to your iPhone. You can use Safari on the iPhone to go to Amazon and get books, but the experience is not quite as nice as it is on the Kindle.
I love my Kindle! It's nice to have the option of having an app for my iPhone though so I can keep reading when I don't feel like carrying both. I would recommend both!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
