With me,only to some extent I may add widgets that relate to the theme of the avatar, for a personal touch. I would never rate more favorably based on that or based on the user,I know so many people here now. I do comment on avatars if I like them, but I generally do that on that persons profile page.As far as other people, undoubtedly.
If a profile image impacts you in some way,you may subconsciously carry that over to your voting etc. Sources: Askville,My Epinion BrainBuilder_is_gone's Recommendations Anonymity Amazon List Price: $25.00 Used from: $6.77 Average Customer Rating: 4.5 out of 5 (based on 7 reviews) Fits your current avatar..
I answer the way I see fit Honestly I could less if there was pictures, I will still respond the same way. I respond on how I think the answer should be said. I mean why should it matter if someone has a picture upor not or what kind they have.
I think everyone needs the same respect. I doknow that in time you will get to know and understand people on here and then one can know if they can respond by answering in a silly way or not. I respond to all answers in a proper way until I get to know the asker and know if they will take kindly to silly answers or so on.. Sources: me .
I think it's only human nature Subconsciously, people respond more kindly to a smiling face or a pleasant personality. I very often find that I have to move my screen up and put an irritating avitar out of my view so I can concentrate on the merit of the question or answer. Yet, a comical or goofy avitar has no affect on my feelings toward the Q or A.
I think it's just my nature to turn away from mean or intimidating images and feel like I can relate more to the pleasant and appealing. But...that's just me.
I would certainly hope not. Myself, I usually don't even pay attention to the user's image so I wouldn't think it would have much effect on me, if I spot something out of the corner of my eye that I like I will have a look-see but other than that I tend to leave them be. I know that sometimes I'll see a persons avatar and really like it but I dislike their answer or something, I know for a fact that liking their avatar doesn't stop me from giving them a bad rating.
But in answering questions I can't be certain, I haven't come across a situation really that would make me think about this so if there is any effect it is subconscious. While looking at someones avatar could make me take them less seriously if I read the question and it is a serious question then that overrides the avatar. One thing thought that I know makes me take people less seriously is 'wen tey strt spling lke ths'... And i've seen people do that purposely and it annoys the hell out of me.
I don't care who you are, how old you are, what the question is, or if you're just trying to have fun... Learn to stinkin' spell! If English isn't your main language I can understand you having some typos and grammar problems but if you were born and raised in the US of A you should at least be able to type your own damn language! Sorry for rambling on a bit off topic but I felt the need to get that point across :P Overall I would hope that a person's avatar does not affect how they answer a question but at the same time I'm sure with some people, at some level, it does.. The Tipping Point: This is somewhat the 'first' book of the two, if came before Blink but I don't believe it's a precursor to Blink, I have yet to read this myself but will soon when I get the chance. I think the title says it all "How little things can make a big difference. " .
Avatars Actually, yes, sometimes. Pictures are powerful, and if the avatar bothers me it might affect the way I assume the person behind the avatar is. Once they start posting and if they aren’t weird I realize it’s just an avatar, though, and I’m fine with it!
But, for instance, if you need to "shock" people through the use of a tiny avatar, then you’ve probably got problems. But there aren’t really too many here that are outrageous or anything . I remember when I first came here there was a controversial one but I don’t see it here anymore.
Funny ones don't affect me the same way--I don't assume the person is a clown or anything. I hate it when people don't have avatars as they all just blend in that way, like it's all one big "newbie7840343" out there. It's not hard to get an avatar, and it doesn't cost anything, so I hope everyone will do it..
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
