If it has an asterix beside it, it's an estimate and can go down when they finally calculate the values, I believe.
Half your luck :-)I joined HP just in time for the 'Google Massacre'. Signed up for Adsense anyway. I was equally quick to join the HP Earnings program when invited, as part of their opening the program to all Hubbers a couple of weeks back.
I can't so far construct an honest sentence that contains HubPages, Adsense , Earnings, and an actual monetary amount. (OK, I'm exaggerating, I could cover a cup of coffee; instant, from a jar, that I already have in the house...)So, not only am I not seeing any fluctuation. I'm not seeing anything at all.(Only 13 hubs to date though; not ready to give up yet.)Good luck barbergirl, and may all your future fluctuations be upwards!
My Adsense has decrease by about 16% but my Hubpages Ads have increased by about 22% since I first activated it. It appears that Hubpages has had a slight increase in Google rankings as I have seen an increase of search engine referral visits of about 36% from the previous month.
I think of it like the stock market and I don't really understand that, yet.
I've written 15 hubs and have seen my earnings consistently go up until I posted the last one and I lost a few cents. Two steps forward, one step back, I guess . ..
Well I just recently started the hubsense program about two weeks ago I have seen a couple of dips in the income but nothing major. However my adsense account seems to have gone down a fair amount. I recall reading that starting hubsense would possibly impact your adsense income but its seems as what I am lacking on adsense hubsense has made up for.
I noticed one day it said I had made nothing which was way off however I looked yesterday and there is money on that same day now must have been a technical issue.
I have a friend who writes for Squidoo and they told me that any time we write on the internet it is a gamble and its like pulling a lever on a slot machine. Sometimes we lose and sometimes we win and this can be in regards to traffic and money. They told me it is best to write about things that I find interesting and can stay motivated about because if I fixated on the highs and lows of the internet I would miss out on the most important part of the experience.
Keep writing and everything else will work itself out!
Similar to adsense, the earnings are estimated at first and will fluctuate depending on the keyword worthiness, competition, and if there are any "click-throughs" that need to be factored in.
I have noticed the same thing. I originally signed up for it and I made some extra money, but I have definitely seen a decrease in earnings from both my adsense account and the Hubpages ad program. I hope I begin to see an increase in earnings soon though.
Good Luck!
No I can't see that but I think they are recovering back.

While I have only been around here for about 4 months I see a pattern: when my impressions are down, my cpm is up; and when my impressions are up, my cpm is down. I can't quite figure it out, but I'm just going to keep writing and see what happens since I have been pleased more-or-less so far. 89Hypersapien saysI think what you see initially is an estimate, not a finalized number, so there's always a chance that it will fluctuate. I don't know that I've ever had the estimate go down, but it does frequently go up. In addition, my overall earnings have been steadily inceasing since I've become serious about creating content.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
