Does anyone have softball tips?

First, teaching your body to remain relaxed in sports isn t easy...athletes and martial artists spend years perfecting the balance between remaining calm and being "on edge" and ready to strike...so don t be too hard on yourself as you work on it. In my youth I had a coach who gave us two tips to remaining relaxed & focused in the batter s boxx: 1) Do all your thinking before you reach the plate. Over thinking slows down the body timing so all your scouting and planning should be done while on deck...Observe the pitcher s tendencies and the movement of the ball.

Also take note of the game situation so you have an objective when you get into the box (fly ball to score the runner from 3B? Grounder to the right side to advance the runner? Etc.).

When you step to the plate you should already have a plan and be looking for particular pitches to hit. 2) Control your breathing to remain calm. When we re nervous we tend to hold our breath, which in turn causes our muscles to get tense.

My coach taught us an unorthodox method to control breathing that I still use today: As you get into the box, silently (in your head) sing a favorite song to yourself that has a slow, steady beat. As you silently "sing" the lyrics, you ll find yourself breathing in time. This is also a good way to keep the mind relaxed.

As your hitting skills develop, you ll find that keeping a relaxed mind will allow you to hit more instinctively.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
