This can easily be done by SonicPerfectionists (link provided above, and details provided below) Yes, this process can be done easily and rather cheaply. Visit the link provided above , and I have the most important details provided right here, below. Hope this helps!
Digital Media to CD TransferIf you have any DAT tapes that you care about the contents of, you might want to consider transferring them to CD soon! That is because many DAT tapes have been found to suffer from the infamous "sticky shed syndrome" where some tape's oxide layer will literally start separating from the backing over time. That means that if you have DAT tapes that you care about, and you don't transfer their contents soon, you may find that the contents will be lost forever.
We can "Bake" your tapes, and then perform a transfer to CD. How to do it? (this information is also available on the above provided link by clicking the "Bake" hyperlink.) How do I send a record or tape to you to be converted?1) – Send us a quick email titled “Conversion Estimate Request” containing the number of LPs or tapes and the type of media (ie: LP, 45, Cassette, Open-Reel, 8-Track, DAT, Elcaset, etc) that you would like to have converted and the level of service that you desire (eg.
Standard Level 1 ). A. We will then promptly respond, by sending you a preliminary estimate of what your conversions will cost, based on the best information that we have regarding the length of the tapes or LPs, and the speed of the recordings (we can only send a precise estimate for Reel to Reel tapes if you know the speed at which the tapes were recorded at, the track format, and the lengths of all of the tapes).2) – Box-up your media and send them off to us.
We recommend using the 12”x12”x1” boxes that most post offices sell to ensure the safest possible transport for LPs. Tapes generally ship well in priority boxes, and bubble envelopes. Ship your package(s) to the following address: Sonic Perfectionists 9805 NE 116th Street PMB #109 Kirkland, WA 98034 Sources: http://www.sonicperfectionists.com/Services.htm .
If you can fix your DAT player, you can do it yourself or hire it out. If you have just a few to do, either fix your DAT machine or beg or borrow one and do the conversion yourself. Here's a pretty detailed set of instructions on how to do this:etree.org/faq_dat-cdr.htmlIf you need some software help, it's available here:surfpack.com/downloads/7434/convertdatto..., there are companies that will do this for you for a fee, but I'd do it myself and save the bucks.
However, if you're bound and determined to pay someone, here's one company. My disclaimer: I have never used them and this is NOT a recommendation, merely information for you to consider:Vinyl 2 CD Toll Free U. SA and CANADA 1-866-511-6638 Vancouver, Canada 778-829-6638Hope this helps.

This is where I do this but I'm in Oregon. Maybe Paragon Group can help you. Not knowing where you live, it's difficult to help.
BUT I've done this quite a few times with Paragon Group, here in Portland, Oregon. I'll bet you could contact them and ask for help where you live (they'll probably know someone). They also have offices in Chicago & Seattle, I believe.

1 newbie1554701, regarding your answer "If you can fix your DAT player, you can do it yourself or hire it out. ":Thanks, this is great advice. I tried to fix it.
I opened it up to see if anything was sticking but everything seemed normal. Also some foam pads had turned to dust -- just in two years of storage. I would get the DAT fixed, but I can't imagine why anyone would even use a DAT.
Years ago, before . Wav files were the norm for recording it was a great way to keep the masters. And as far as borrowing one, I live in a small town where people ask me "what's dat?"
Thanks for the help. It looks like sending them out is the answer. Thanks for the links on the software.
Personally, I used Polterbits and Audacity to convert. I just never finished converting them all.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
