Yes, the bible eiliminates pretty much all free thinking and opinions. Christians like to say " if its not of God then its of the Devil". Since the bible is supposedly Gods word and it mentions nothing of other planets then its of the Devil.
Civilizations, previous to the bible being written , have known about and tracked other planets.
No it doesn't. When the Bible was written/organized, there was very little to no knowledge that planets existed, let alone other star systems with their own planets, and especially they were not aware of the billions upon billions of stars in our universe. So, for something written/organized thousands of years ago to deem that life does not exist on other planets is a bit of a stretch.
And if you were to look at it another way, had God and/or the writers of the various chapters of the Bible even so much as MENTIONED life on other planets - even to say that such does not exist - it would've forever given credence to the possibility. Have you read this verse: "Oh, by the way, all those billions upons billions of stars and their possible planetary systems you notice at night, there isn't life on any of those so you don't have to think about that ever again. God has spoken, so mote it be."And what if it did?
How would life on other planets affect Earth's spirituality, Heaven, hell, Jesus, and so on? The only way it could is if religious leaders told us to not believe and if we DID believe, then we'd go to hell. Otherwise, what are some religious people worried about?
Heaven becoming overcrowded? God spending too much time at the other planets? It just doesn't make sense why there shouldn't, from a Christian/religious/biblical point of view, be life on other planets.
No...People overate the importance of the Bibles however. The bibles(not just the christian book) are tools written by imperfect beings. They are not the know all, tell all guides that people want them to be.
They are a great way to start, to discover where our beliefs originate. No written word has all the answers to our questions. Take into account that the writers of the Bibles were primitives, with a primitives understanding of the world, of linguistics, of themself and of the universe.
They may have been the smartest primitives on the planet... but still... they were primitives.
Our planet is totally unique in the cosmos. Of all the planets the hubble telescope and nasa have viewed or discovered, none are like ours. God created ours.
For a purpose. That purpose is to deal with flesh(ly desires) We are uniquely designed to our unique planet and totally perfect for god to use. To think that god is working with other planets/inhabitants and ours at the same time is difficult to comprehend.
I say no. We have gods full attention. Don't you think our planet is a large enough dilemma for god?Lol.. :).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
