My roommates by bread from the store, which of course has preservatives in it already. They buy bread like it is going outta style. LOL They keep in the refrigerator thinking it will last longer.
I know of freezing bread, but does it make a difference to place in fridge, if it has preservatives already in it? Asked by kashmunni 48 months ago Similar questions: matter store bought bread refrigerator freezer Food & Drink > Food.

Bread in the frig or freezer last incredibly long. Even with the preservatives, bread will begin to go moldy and stale if you leave it out for ~3 weeks. If you leave it in the frig, it will last considerably longer. It will also taste better (not stale).
If you freeze it, and then defrost it by putting it in the frig for a day, you'll be surprised at how "fresh" it is. I tend to toast my bread, so I keep my bread in the frig. That being said, nothing beats fresh baked bread.

Yes, from a flavor, texture and longevity standpoint I've found that both the artisan-crafted, preservative-free bread and the commercial bread (with preservatives) just doesn't keep very well in my household (two people) unless it's in the refrigerator. This is a significant compromise: bread is prone to changes in texture (generally a bit drier) when it's refrigerated. From an epicurean standpoint, this is a no-no.
That said, even if the bread has preservatives in it, refrigerating the bread will help extend its life. I've generally found that this is anywhere from 4-7 days. In my opinion, your best bet would be to advise your roommates to place the bread in two more layers of bags before refrigerating: excepting very thick, vaporproof plastic bags used for storing food (Cryovac, FoodSaver, etc.), moisture will escape, and the bread can pick up off flavors in your refrigerator.
Depends Depends on the bread. Your typical "Wonder bread" has preservatives up the wazoo, look at the list of ingredients and you'll see "potassium sorbate as a preservative" and others. Your more "natural" breads might have fewer preservatives.
Your "Bruggers Bagels" might have none. As a result if you leave your wonder bread out on the counter, it will probably stay edible for weeks. The more natural breads, maybe a week, then little green mold will start growing around the edges.
With Brugger's bagels, on the counter, you might start smelling moldy overtones the next day. Better keep them in the fridge.
Yes it will last longer. I buy Natural Ovens Bread, Bagels, Cookies and I keep them all in the freezer because they do go bad fast. They say to put in the freezer after purchasing. It's not hard to take out a cookie or slice of bread one at a time.
Someone told me recently that food was made to be eaten fresh and not stored. So if you are not going to eat something then you must think of the best way to store it. Putting it all into the refridgerator makes sense to me, and the sooner the better.

Bread Frozen Bread: If a loaf of bread bought at the store is kept in a frezer life is stopped. Refrigerated Bread: To refrigerate bread you run the danger of mold. Bread kept in open air or in bread box could draw cock roaches or ants, it may also mold eventualy.
Here is a simple experiment, buy three loaves of bread @ Rainbow or Wonder Bread Outlet Stores. Put one in a Freezer, another in a Fridge, and another in a open space or box, see what happens. Sources: MWA Google Map View Larger Map .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
