Does New Jersey really has different colored rivers and automobile graveyards?

I can't tell you much about northern New Jersey, but southern New Jersey is really very nice. The pine barrens are amazing, and Ocean City and several of the beaches are beautiful. A friend and I once decided just to spend a day in a small town in southern NJ--we had a lovely time and didn't see one auto graveyard.It's just like any state that has a large population--some of it is rural and relatively untouched and some of it is urban and industrial.

Since most out of staters travel the NJ Turnpike, all they see is a bleak landscape of tank fields and junkyards.. Thus they form the opinion that the entire state looks like that.. Fact is, once you get out of the metropolitan areas, it's rural and desolate.. Especially in the pine barrens, down south--100 miles of nothing..BTW--I live in a semi rural town.. I have wildlife in my back yard...

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
