Does one need alot of money to sue someone? because i'm broke and I got accused for something I didn't do?

Because i'm broke and I got accused for something I didn't do! My employer accused me of eating food "stealing" "by word of mouth" I know I didn't and I have camera proof! They didn't look into that yet they just suspended me first thing, thus causing me a loss of income!

I can imagine your frustration. Maybe if you go in to talk to the manager you can at least get the money owed to you paid. But this would not be a good case for suing--the costs of the case would be greater than anything you could expect to get out of it.

Well, you just never know. If you don't try, you won't get it for sure.

Sometimes attorneys will take cases they feel sure they can win on a contingency basis, meaning you don't pay up front, but they get a hefty percentage of your settlement if you do win. Also, anyone can sue anyone for anything in the US, if they are so inclined. At the least, you will have to pay the cost of filing the papers.

If there is security footage proving that you didn't eat anything when someone said you did, you may be able to use that to proof that you were suspended unfairly. Not sure that you would be able to access that security footage, though, but management likely could, if they wanted to. I will say, though, that it kind of sounds like they used this "offense" to suspend you as a way of punishing you for something unrelated, or to try to get you to quit.

Have you been there long, and most important, have you had problems or difficulties with co-workers or management? I know you feel you have been wronged, and you lost a week's pay, but if this is how they treat you, do you think it is time to try to get a job elsewhere? It won't get you your lost income back, but it might get you a work environment where you are treated better.

It is weird because I have pretty good relations with the co-workers, and they said that it "looked" like I did it. Contact a local office of Legal Aid and ask for a labor relations specialist. Be able to state your case in a succinct manner so that you have all important facts in order (do not ramble on) and have any pics, documentation, names of witnesses available. Good luck.

Check with your local labor board. Sounds fishy! One major drawback to our legal system: Justice shouldn't be about how much you can afford to pay some lawyer.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
