In order of preference... 1. IPhone 3G - all around winner. The operating system and app store are totally unique (and superior in my opinion).2.
Nokia E71 - runner-up to iPhone with similar functionality + QWERTY keyboard, but more expensive ($380 unlocked on eBay) 3. Blackberry Curve - good for email, texting, but crappy web browser. You could get the Blackberry Bold for $280 on Amazon.com if you extend your AT&T contract.
The Bold has gotten great reviews. 4. Unlocked G1 - These are going for $330 on eBay.
5. Sony Ericsson W760a - Walkman phone. Smaller, cheaper, good design.
Phones to avoid... 1. LG Vu - It's expensive and I really dislike the operating system.2. Samsung Eternity a867 - The Amazon.com reviews suggest that the operating system freezes while doing even basic activities (like texting or answering a call).
I know you said it doesn't have to be one, but an iPhone is in your budget if you are eligible for an upgrade. If you are not eligible for an upgrade, most new fancy phones will be out of your budget. Your best bet is to go to your closest cellular store and play around with the phones and see what you like.
--- Re: One more year... heh. Well then I suggest you purchase a phone secondhand. The new phones available are capable of so much!
But new they are way too expensive. An iPhone bought secondhand will retain it's original warranty, and Apple is extremely happy to help with any problems with their products. Just make sure the phone is still covered by checking the purchase date.Re ppalmer21: Yes, you can buy an iPhone if you are not eligible.
No, it is not in his budget. A new iPhone without a plan in the US is not at $300... yet.
Oh. You are lucky. ATT has the new HTC Fuze (Touch Diamond Pro), that is the best new phone on the market.
Personally I would recommend the iPhone because it lets you surf the web, listen to music, watch movies, and even play games! But if you don't want the iPhone wait for the Blackberry Curve 8900 to come out (it's already out in Canada and some parts of Europe and it'll be out in the USA in about a month). It has a keyboard so you can easily email your work and friends.
An iPhone is great, especially if you're eligible for an upgrade. However, if you're still locked into a contract, just go on Ebay and search for GSM unlocked phone or AT&T phone. Then take your SIM from the old phone and put it in the new phone.
I say that you should check out craigslist and your local town for you may find a newer phone than what you are looking for at a price that is less than 300.
You don't need a brick and mortar store shop online at teh att store wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/welc... you canoften geta better deal---when I bought my phone on line--they had clearnace phones that were free after rebate--originally $300-$400.
Buy a $30 GoPhone and put your SIM into it. Use it until you're eligible for another upgrade or go to another service then.
I know everyone is going to point towards some newer iphone and what not but I've absolutely LOVED my blackberry pearl 8100c. I am super fickle when it comes to cell phones. The predictive text for texting with 2 letters per key is incredible, and actually got me used to predictive text which was an absolute mystery for me in the past.
The trackball is the other feature I love on the phone. It's so much easier to get around on the phone than using a key pad. Sound quality has been great.
Connects to my bluetooth headset perfectly. The odd thing with me, is that I don't use it with the blackberry service either, which if you get that you will be plugged in to some other great features. The ONE downside with it is the locked mode, when you come out of it there's an option to call emergency service.
I'm sure this is some requirement so if it's locked you can still get help fast. Only issue is that my kids get it and play with it, and they've called 911 a couple times. Well twice in the past year or so.
Absolutely love it though. Good luck!
The AT&T site shows a MOTORAZR V3xx with a no comittment price of $299 but YMMV wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell....
Buy a used phone, on eBay for instance, that works with the AT&T service. Lots of people get new phones and then sell their old ones which usually still work just fine. This is what I did when my own phone broke.
Had the same problem giving to me by my girlfriend for her niece. Told her to buy the Sony Ericsson W580i Walkman. You can get it for free (with new contract) or less than $220 The niece is 10 and she's had it for months now, through drops, throws, etc... It still works.
Can buy it online too.
I personally love the Nokias, and ATT does have a nice selection. If you're not eligible for the upgrade price, Ebay is probably your best bet. You didn't tell us your needed features, so you can try the phone finder at phonescoop.com/phones/finder.php to narrow down your choices.
I'd recommend buying one on eBay because you can almost always get a good deal on the phone you want there. Use my source below to find the phone you want. You will get a great deal on there if you be careful and avoid people that look like scams.
Good luck.
For $300 you can get nearly any phone on the market from nearly any retailer out there. Go to your ATT store and buy one.
Nokia running symbian or the iPhone. Android isn't quite there yet.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
