That depends on where you are on the planet. The Arctic Circle is the point at which, on midwinter's day, the sun doesn't rise. As you go further north the length of the period of darkness increases until at the North Pole, you have six months without a sunrise.
At the other end of the Earth it is the same story with the Antarctic Circle and the South Pole. At about 70°N and 70°S there would be fifteen days of darkness every winter.
