No. In Psalms 149 and Psalms 150 it is a command (not a suggestion) to sing and praise the Lord in the congregation of saints and in his sanctuary with musical instruments. Trumpets, guitars (psaltery), harps, tambourines (timbrel), stringed instruments, organs (flutes), and even loud cymbals are listed.
Jesus never came to destroy the Old Testament He came to fulfill it. Also, trumpets are involved when God's judgment is poured out. For example, in the Old Testament--at the battle of Jericho and in the New Testament--the seven trumpet judgments in Revelation chapters 8-11.
