It might have an effect on me and others in my position, and in turn Mahalo, if the purchase means they change their policy toward non-US writers. Currently you can't be paid to write for them if you're a non US resident and non US citizen. As far as I understand, if your writing quality and topic is good, the pay per article as well as the residual income can potentially beat what Mahalo pays.So if this writing market were eventually opened to foreign writers to add to the very slim pickings we have, there would of course be an effect on Mahalo.
: ).
I'm too lazy t retype what I said in the other question.. so i'm copy pasting the beginning and adding a new ending lol As a pretty long term and still active member on associated content I can say their contributors (not myself included) are in a hissy. Some bad reporting put out the story yahoo intends to close AC which AC is saying is entirely untrue, most of their contributors are already talking about jumping ship. This flood of freelancers looking for an alternative may bring a flood of writers at the tasks section of Mahalo.
Course the tab is still gone, but I still see Rush week tasks coming in in the QC tab so.. I'm confused about what Mahalo is doing with the tasks section. Removing the tab made it seem as if they are closing tasks to new writers but it doesn't seem as such otherwise. Mahalo may not be effected at all because the site can be confusing and the high payouts makes experienced freelancers nervous of non-payment.
They've been ripped off before and can't afford to do so again in many cases.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
