You are correct. There is no actual law that states what age a breeder should sell a puppy. There are guidelines of course suggested by the kennel club which states not before 8 weeks of age.
I personally like to get MY Gsd pups at 6 weeks old if possible as I find they settle into a new environment easier with less stress and I have never had any problems by doing this. But for smaller breeds I would agree with not less than 8 weeks old. My old dog who I got at 6 weeks old is the best dog I have ever owned, and as you know is still doing well for his age at 14 and 7 months old.
He was enormous and very forward at 6 weeks old, as were the rest of his siblings and he came into a household that had two adult female dogs so he did not miss out on how to communicate well with his own kind. The first day I brought him home he was playing tug-o-war with one of my female dogs and thoroughly enjoying himself. Jmo.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
