Instead of Ubuntu I thoroughly recommend Linux Mint 11. Its easy to install and easy to use plus it comes with much of the software you are likely to need preinstalled. Linux Mint 11 Download http://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=... How to dual boot Windows XP and Linux (XP installed first) http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_windo... Linux Mint 11 Release Notes/User Guide http://linuxmint.com/rel_katya.php You download the ISO.
Image of Linux Mint 11 then you need to create a Bootable LiveDVD for installation https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto Linux Mint 11 can also be run straight from the LiveDVD from Boot without touching your Hard Drive LUg.
Okay, you need to install Windows FIRST. Because Windows writes itself into the MBR (Master Boot Record) if you have Ubuntu installed already, it will overwrite GRUB (the Linux boot-loader that Ubuntu uses) and will only boot windows. When you are installing Windows, you can specify how large of a partition you want to use.
Just be sure to save a bit (at least 10-50 GB) for your Ubuntu partition. Once the setup is done, pop in the Ubuntu disk/USB and reboot they system. Once that's loaded, set up the system, but when it gets tot he "Partitioning of Disks" setup phase, you want to select the Manual setup option or "Something Else" as it will show on the screen.
Here you can manually set and select the partition set up you want to use. My personal set up is usually: Windows Install size - NTFS - mounted to /windows for /dev/sda1 100 MB - Ext4 - /boot for /dev/sda2 Double your RAM size - Swap - for /dev/sda3 and the rest - Ext4 - / - for dev/sda4 During the boot loader setup, GRUB will notice the Windows install and will add it to the boot menu as the last item, but you CAN change it to boot directly to windows if you want it to once you get the system installed and rebooted. To do that just read through this documentation: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
