How to fix this problem with installation of Ubuntu and how to delete Ubuntu from the boot screen?

If you want to try playing with Uubuntu, then I would try reinstalling it first. If you gave up on Ubuntu or just can't get it to run on your system, then you need to replace the GRUB bootloader with the Windows one. I haven't done this before, but I think it goes like this.

Insert your Windows install CD into the optical drive and boot from it. When prompted, boot into the Recovery Console. (On an XP CD, do this by pressing R at the first screen.) Once you have booted into the Recovery Console, log onto Windows using the password for your Administrator account.

Then run the following commands: fixboot fixmbr You may receive some warnings. Ignore these and allow it to complete the process. Eject the disc and reboot.

Your computer should be back to the way it was before you tried Ubuntu. Good luck!

Grub is the boot loader program for Ubuntu. Essentially this means that it is one of the first things that loads on you computer and it tells the system which operating system to load. When you install Ubuntu, it replaces the windows boot loader with GRUB because the windows boot loader is hard to work with for anything but windows. So the fix to your problem could be to re-install the windows boot loader.

I don't have any experience with this and I don't know how safe/easy it is, but check with google. The other option is to edit a file on your ubuntu partition called /etc/menu. Lst (I think) which holds all the boot options and then just comment out the ones for the old Ubuntu install and leave the windows one.

Messing with this can possibly make your system unbootable, so think and research before you do anything drastic. Back up anything important. I'm not sure why the Ubuntu install failed, but you may consider trying it again some time.

Ubuntu is a great operating system and definitely worth the effort to get it installed. Google is your friend for troubleshooting this.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
