Erased hard disk, then bought Vista, but computer has no CD drive. Can I install from another computer?

1 If you had left old system on...then you could have popped Vista on via another computer via interconnection of the two via usb hubs...but, you dimped the sysytem from lap top...now need a cd to install...sorry! .

2 This laptop....may not be able to run a Vista programming if its as old as it sounds....Be aware of that also!..Blessings.......Annlee .

Can I install from another computer? I have a laptop that was playing up, never doing anything right, so I backed up all my files then did a complete erase of the hard disk. That was my first mistake as it appears that the operating system has also been erased.

I turn it on and get the message "Operating System not found". The laptop doesn't have a CD player and I don't have the XP restore disks or any boot disks anyway. I do have a MAC though with everything.

Can I somehow download a new Windows operating system onto the MAC, then connect the MAC to the laptop, and install the operating system onto the laptop? How old is this laptop? No cd player.....really?

Going solely by the information given....if you have no cd...You would need to install one to be able to load another system to the lap top.....Inside the bios fire up remains waiting the direction for an install from a legitimate system disc boot installation from a cd or dvd....That is simple enough! Added this video so you could get a few chuckels...your going to need them with that laptop without a cd player! .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
