Evolutionists, what evolved first?

First off, the fact that you think that evolution has an end goal in mind says to me that you don't understand evolution. There's nothing about evolution that indicate that higher intelligence is the end result. Evolution is basically a theory that those that are best suited for their environment will survive to pass on their genes, thus their offspring may carry on those qualities that help them survive (or maybe even develop even better qualities).

However, there's nothing that says that intelligence itself is one of those factors. So your question doesn't really makes sense in terms of evolution. As to why we haven't solved these things, I would argue that there's probably some evolutionary benefit to them that keeps them from being removed completely (and it may not be the acts themselves, but the mentality or antisocial behavior qualities that give the advantage.

It's one of the reasons that many CEO's tend to exhibit psychopathic tendencies). Response: Again, you're not understanding evolution. There's nothing in the theory of evolution that stats that lying isn't a factor that is selected for (in fact, I be we could find tones of reasons why lying would give advantages to people, and thus be a trait that is sustained through evolution).

As far as being outside of nature (which is what you're basically implying), I'd argue that that's only partially true. We have the ability to alter our environment to some extent, but so do other creatures. However, simply making your environment more hospitable to your traits doesn't completely exclude any environmental, or even social, pressures on a species.

So, humans are still evolving, but simply because you find certain traits positive and good, doesn't mean that they're what makes you best suited for your environment. So again, instead of simply labeling certain actions as bad, and thus selected against in evolution, you have to ask yourself if they convey any type of advantage to the people (or the species) that are committing them. Again, I'd point back to the fact that some anti-social behaviors have been show to be reprehensible, but still convey advantages.

And you still need to get away from the thought that evolution has a direction, even though you're saying it's part of the doctrine of evolution, it's not. And Evolution doesn't state anything about God. You seem to have an idea of what evolution is, but not really the ins and outs of the actual theories involved in it.

Response 2: It may not be too me, but no one has said that we started out as monkeys, and I refuse to believe that after all this time you still think that's part of the theory. That's like saying that my aunt is my mother, and my cousin is my sister. A more accurate description would be that my cousin and I share a common relative in my grandmother.

We're not directly related, but we share that common ancestor. That's what evolution states. Response 3: yeash, lots of responses.

A missing link is again a misunderstanding of what transitional forms are. You'll never find the definitive missing link between humans and our common ancestor. Normally I post this link when I'm poking fun at someone, but it does give a pretty good visual representation of evolution and missing links.

It's from futurama, not a scientific source, but still a good little example (and maybe I am poking a bit of fun) http://www.myvidster.com/video/4702806/F...

One creationist argument against evolution is "why can we not see it?", well because evolution takes millions of years, you'd have to be an eternal god to take notice of any changes. Also, evolution is an occurrence, not a guided process (as far as science is aware), so it won't always work out for a species. If this is worth any thought also: One of the essential laws of evolution is survival of the fittest, which humans had kinda bypassed, we let genetic errors live on.

We are even living in a world tarnished by sin, so sin will always find a way to make us all do evil things. You can't pick between being religious or scientific, that is not a one only option, reality is made of both Truth and Fact, God exists and created all things, science says there was a Big Bang, Evolution, etc, one of these is Truth, the other is Fact, yet both are Real.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
