The 6450 won't even last you for a day to play modern First Person Shooters. You might be able to play something like Call of Duty 4 on low settings, but that's as far as you'll get. With ATI's HD series, the first number, ie.
6xxx means nothing. It's just the year's series. The second number, ie.
X4xx is the number that matters the most. On a scale of 1-9, it tells the power of the card. 4 is very weak.
You can look at this site to see performance ratings of different video cards. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_e... Just because a card is new, doesn't necessarily mean it's powerful, because developers want to cater towards the needs of non-gamers as well, who won't want to spend money on graphics processing power that they won't be using. As you can see, a card such as the 6990 has a performance rating of 3195, while the 6450 has a rating of 371 -- almost 9 times less powerful than the 6990 (and half the performance of the 5570 which you used to have).
If you have a tight budget, I'd recommend the 6770. It's about $100 and is a good entry card for modern gaming. You'll probably even be able to use it to run Battlefield 3 at presentable settings.
As you go higher your performance (as well as cost) will increase at a fairly steady ratio. However, as other people have said, no cards will be able to play modern games for 4-5 years without replacement.
It is very good graphics card but 4-5 years is too much time compared to speed at which technology is developing!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
