Few of my pots look rusty, brown from all the cooking, what is the best way to clean them and make them look newer?

Vinegar, baking soda, and a Scotch Brite pad with a bit of elbow grease should do the trick. Wear rubber gloves. Also, a good scrub with a steel wool pad might work, too.

My favorite way is using baking soda and a non scratch pad. Not sure if you are cleaning stainless steel or cast iron. If cast iron then don't use the above method it will ruin the seasoning on the pan.

I suggest using vinegar. You can pick up a gallon of white distilled vinegar at your local grocery store, it's usually found in the mayonnaise/salad dressing aisle and costs less than $3. It's also available at Walmart.

While you're there pick up a pair of gloves if don't already have some. Set your pots on your countertop and pour in about a cup or so of vinegar. You can add water to fill up a very large pot.

Let the vinegar soak for awhile, test clean a spot in about 15 minutes. Let soak longer (maybe up to 1 hour) if you need too, but probably NOT overnight. To clean the bottoms/outside of your pots, set your pots one inside the other and fill up your sink with about 4 inches of water and add a couple of cups of vinegar.

Let soak awhile. Probably longer than it took for the inside. This may cause your whole house to smell like vinegar which might not be liked very much by other members of your household!

To stop this you might want to break out the plastic wrap and simply cover the top of your sink with a few strips. Cleaning the bottoms of your PANS is a bit trickier because the handles sometimes make it so they don't fit very easy in your sink. Either you can remove the handles so they fit in the sink or use a large, thick trash bag.

If using a bag then just put your pans inside, gather up the opening so that only the pan bottoms are touching the bag and pour in some vinegar around the pans. Tie bag shut. Check in about an hour or two.

For especially stubborn spots try scrubbing with some baking soda. Yep, you can clean both the inside and outside at the same time, but I find it less demanding to do it this way. And if you're going to be using all that vinegar might as well do all of them!

Works best with a new scrubbie.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
