First Gen iPhone w/ 1611 error, OSX 10.6, New Battery Installed. Help?

That's a hard one to answer without the phone in hand. Solutions have ranged from cleaning the dock port, reinstalling iTunes from scratch, putting the phone in DFU mode, reflashing with older/newer firmware, to the battery replacement method you've already attempted. Not knowing what else you may have tried, I'm going to punt and suggest you go to the source at Apple Support, in particular tech support note TS1275.

Having offered this, I wonder if HAD is really the best place to ask for a common iPhone tech support question?

My hacking experience with iphone is small so far. I had issues with my friends iphone updating and jailbreaking. My main issue was the USB port.It would work in the front USB on my pc and I could push music to it.

But when I tried updating the unit I got errors. Moving the USB cable to the rear of my PC fixed the problem and I could update it. Plus i've not tried from MAC.

I do have a hackintosh laptop but I used window$ XP to hack my iphone. Only seemed right to hack from another OS :).

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
