1 That depends entirely on what the Logo is for, and what it looks like.
Adobe Illustrator every time. While you can do a lot with Photoshop I don’t rec commend it for logos. Illustrator creates what is called a vector output which in simple is just lines while photoshop puts out in pixels like on a computer screen so when it is printed it can (and all to often does) come out with rough edges.
The other advantage to Illustrator is that many manufactures and printers will ask for a . Eps file which stands for encapsulated post script and this is best created in Illustrator while you can do it in photoshop you will not get the results you want. Illustrator gives you "line art" this gives you much more flexibility that pixel art.
I could give you a whole lecture on how to make a lasting logo but I won't bore you with it. In short you are best using Illustrator or if you don't have this program corel draw works as well. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions you can see samples of vector Illustrator created logos at my website.
