I haven't read that series in a LONG time, so, take that as you will. I think you HAVE to start with Foundation. It is just such a great book.
And if you have to do that, you have to read the rest in that series, which just adds to the greatness. I don't think it will spoil anything, but I think you'd have an appreciation of the Prelude book more if you understand what comes after. GREAT series!
I didn't think so. I read the originals back in the '70's as a collage student and loved them. Read the next two as they came out.
Loved Foundations Edge. Thought the "Prelude" books to be a bit too much. More introspective, I think for me, the original Trilogy was great, next two also very good.
Keep in mind, that the author's writing style evolves as they get older. Attitudes change. The Cautionary Tale he was telling us in the original series, evolves as well.
Asimov is a great writer, I think they all have merit. And the Universe he creates is awesome. I think you can read them all in any order, just keep in mind, the change in time between the books.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
