Free, easy-to-use audio rec/editing software?

I need some easy-to-use, freeware software for easy recording and editing of audio/mp3 files. What I need it to do is simply record the audio in from the microphone, and then let me trim/cut it, and add background music that fades in at the beginning and out at the end. That's it!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
