I think that being very active alone does not guarantee bringing in lots of followers on Twitter but it helps. It depends more on whether there is a match between the person’s favourites and your strength. For example: If I’m someone who is keen on internet stuffs, I will follow someone if he is knowledgeable on internet stuffs.

I won’t follow someone if he is only active (but not knowledgeable on internet stuffs). If someone is strong in the field, his activities increase his visibility and thus chance of being followed by me.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
