Generally speaking what would you rather know. How? Or why?

I'd rather know how. It is a less arbitrary way of working with the world. But there's a tale about two men in a bar that mocks the limit to our understanding of psychology.
Bob and Fred are at the counter. Bob starts to hit Fred. Fred tells him ' hey, what's wrong with you?
You need to see a shrink! " Some months later Bob happens to be in the same bar as Fred, upon recognizing him proceeds to punch Fred. Fred replies ' I thought I told you to see a shrink'.
Bob tells him ' I did see a shrink and now I know why I hit you. ' .
I'd rather know God It's not what you know, it's who you know.
1 Always why. That's why I had such a problem with mathematics. I would care more about why a formula was ordered in such a way, or why it was called what it was, than what the outcome was.
That's because I am more philosophically minded. I need to know the intention and purpose of the underlying ordering that creates manifest form. I am never content with how, until I understand the 'why' of anything.'How' does not address deeper issues.
For example, one could ask 'why' to rob a bank, or 'how' to rob a bank. If the most important question is why, there is a moral conscience involved. If it is 'how', well, there you have it.
Its obvious. How requires no depth, merely the ability to follow instruction.

2 How. If I know how, I can usually figure out why. Why also tends to end up not helping with the big issues.
How is always useful. How gives you the ability to manage or manipulate whatever it is.

3 Being an old geezer who has paid a fair amount of attewntion as timehas passed, I believe I have satisfactory answers to the "philosophical"questions that interest me...What I want to know now is, "Which answers are wrong"...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
