This is a truly sad story. Whatever one thinks about the woman, her judgment, and the right to bear arms, I think this is a very sad moment for the child, for that community, and for our country. I personally don't see the relevance of this Amendment to the carrying of a loaded weapon to a child's school soccer game...unless the woman was seriously expecting to defend the United States from an attack to its security at the game. But, then, I am no Constitutional lawyer. I have probably watched too many Hollywood movies and TV shows.

But, when a concerted attack on the security of our State comes to our shores, I don't think that handguns, like the one shown on the mother's hip, will make the slightest difference in our defense. If we will need to rely on the defenses of civillian militias, then we'd better arm them with machine guns, RPGs, portable anti-aircraft missile launchers, and armoured personnel carriers...and, we'd better consider paying the refs at elementary school soccer games more money... I did find it interesting, though, that she blamed the judge revoking her carry permit for her baby sitting business failing, her kids being harassed, and being shunned by her neighbors.

The fact that she was carrying a loaded gun to a kids soccer game had NOTHING to do with it. Using common sense clearly doesn't enter the picture at all. Easier to blame someone else for the repercussions of your own actions.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
