You started off correctly, but the second set of parenthesis is not associated with the 5. I would teach you to follow the order of operations which is... (P)lease - parenthesis (E)xcuse - exponents (M)y - multiplication (D)ear - division (A)unt - addition (S)ally - subtraction so always do what is inside the parenthesis FIRST... 5(1-2) - (3-2) ==> 5(-1) - (1) then, since there are no exponents, we move to multiplication 5(-1) - (1) ==> -5 - 1 no division here, so then addition and subtraction follow -5 - 1 ==> -6 remember the saying, it will help! 5(1-2) - (3-2) The 5 only multiplies the set of parenthesis it's directly touching. In this case, only the first set of parenthesis. What you did was this: 5((1-2) - (3-2)) It should be: 5(1-2) - (3-2) becomes (5-10) - (3-2) becomes -5 -1 = -6 Just remember, the number you are multiplying by multiplies everything from the first parenthesis it touches only through the matching close parenthesis.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
