Grow old - gracefully, I hope! One of the things I so loved about my grandmothers (and greatgrandma) is that they were REAL - every careworn line on their faces. They were loving, caring and giving.
For me, trying to stop time and look as young as possible just seems crazy. When I think of wisdom, beauty and age, I always think of my grandmothers. They never worried about how they looked, only that they took care of themselves. To me they were beautiful.
I hope to have my kids & grandkids (when I have them) look at me the same way. Besides, I am enjoying my age, and look forward to growing older (well, except for the RA...that can be a real "pain"!). I grow old, I grow old Perhaps it's just because I wasn't beautiful growing up, but being attractive just isn't part of me. I'm much more interested in taking care of myself (eating well, getting enough sleep, exercising) and enjoying doing all of those things than filling myself up with stuff. It just wouldn't even occur to me to have surgery. My body is what it is, and if I were to be modified to make me more attractive than my age, then it just wouldn't feel like me.
It would feel like a lie. People have never stopped on the street to tell me how attractive I was, so it's not like I'm going to miss that. People like me because I'm a good person, friendly and smart and helpful and all that rubbish, and that's what I want people to like me for.
Grow old gracefully... There are so many natural ways to keep yourself young and healthy...most of which are just common sense... Keeping your weight in check... Take a walk and enjoy the view... Eating healthy foods... Using oil supplements to grease the squeaky joints, drying skin, brittle nails, dull hair... A natural face lift by exercising facial muscles... Flushing toxins out with a gallon of fluid a day... Thinking happy thoughts... Doing things to make others happy... Being more loving than hateful...hate is toxic to your system... Making time to work and time to play... Smile..it uses less muscles than a frown... Use your God given talents. Live within your budget... Remove stress from your life...you can't save the world...just fix what you can An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I plan on growing old gracefully myself. I come from a long line of women that age wonderfully, and have been careful to not get a lot of sun damage, so I'm not really worried about aging that much. I started going gray very early, and dyed it for a while.
I stopped after going to the hairdresser to get my hair cut, and the hairdresser pulling her hands back the minute she touched my hair and telling me I should stop because it was damaging my hair. After that, I decided it was more important to have healthy hair than hair that was all the same color. I wouldn't ever consider cosmetic surgery unless it was to fix damage done in an accident.
I just don't find it worth my money, or the risk it is to my life. Every time you go under anesthesia, you take a chance of dying. That's a chance I only take if I have to... like with back surgery or the like. It's important to me to take care of myself and try and stay as healthy as I can, not that I look like a Barbie doll.
No thanks Cosmetic surgery and cosmetics are swell if (a) you want to spend a lot of money and (b) want to look like an idiot. You’re going to get old whether you like it or not (or you won’t which is another swell way to save money) so you might as well accept it and look your age. Neat and clean is one thing.
Having the kiddies snicker at you on the street is not productive. And it ain’t fooling anybody but yourself. (Quoth the old, fat, bald guy who'd rather be comfortable than pretty) .
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
