Alka-Seltzer contains aspirin, sodium bicarbonate, and citric acid. When dissolved in water, the bicarbonate reacts with the acid and produces carbon dioxide gas, which provides the carbonation, as well as sodium citrate. The aspirin relieves the hangover headache, the water reverses dehydration, and the sodium citrate is a partial electrolyte replacement.
From my previous answer to a similar question about hangovers: Some popular hangover remedies are useless (coffee) or can make the hangover worse (more alcohol, or the "hair of the dog that bit you"), but others actually treat the effects of excess alcohol intake. These include: --Eggs contain cysteine, which helps break down acetaldehyde. --Bananas are rich in electrolytes, especially potassium.
--Water replaces excess urine loss. --Fruit juices provide sugar for energy as well as vitamins and electrolytes. --Over-the-counter pain medications can relieve headache.
However, acetaminophen (Tylenol) can cause liver damage, especially when associated with alcohol. Some pain medications also contain caffeine, which is a diuretic and can make dehydration worse. Aspirin can actually decrease the severity of a hangover if taken before bed (although it can also cause stomach pain).
--Given enough time, the body will metabolize and excrete the alcohol and its byproducts, and the hangover will go away. mahalo.com/answers/health/does-anyone-kn....
Alka Selzer could make the stomach feel better. Also, alcohol is dehydrating. A person needs to rehydrate. It needs to get out of the system, and the liver needs to work overtime to process it (or any other medication, drug, or substance) This is very helpful: mayoclinic.com/health/hangovers/DS00649 P.S. I am not a doctor :) just a person who has seen this over the years, and tries to point people in the right direction.......... Cheers!
Best thing I can suggest is before drinking, eat a good portion of meat, pasta or ice cream. Even bread because the more you fill your stomach, the less of a severe hangover you may get because those foods will help soak up the booze in your system. Try drinking plenty of water while you're drinking or before you pass out/go to bed too.
Next morning, again, a good amount of water and eat something filling. Advil tends to help too. (This coming from personal experience after boozing one night at a convention with friends and waking up the next morning with little to no hangover).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
